Cottonwood Canyon State Park

Needed From December 1, 2023
Needed To December 31, 2023

Come join our team at one of Oregon's largest and newest state parks!

Cottonwood Canyon State Park (CWC) is in need of a Host or Host Team for December 2023.

CWC has 4 cabins, 21 campsites, 14 walk-in sites, and a group camp. Use the following link to learn more about CWC: https://stateparks.oregon.gov/index.cfm?do=park.profile&parkId=195

Some benefits of hosting at CWC:

  • Your host site will have electric, water and sewer hookups.
  • Hosts can access the internet and make phone calls using our Wi-Fi connection.
  • CWC is an international dark sky site, therefore the night sky viewing is exceptional.
  • There are miles of hiking trails along the John Day River.
  • CWC has two Fulltime Rangers and a Fulltime Ranger that works at the various parks in our Management Unit.

Cottonwood Canyon State Park is nestled in a deep canyon surrounded by towering cliffs, abundant wildlife, and fantastic trails. Local wildlife includes Big Horn Sheep, Deer, Birds, Fish, etc. The hiking and biking trails are right next to the John Day River. Cottonwood Canyon is known for peaceful and gorgeous dark nights with little light pollution.

Cabin-Campground Hosts are responsible for providing information, assisting park visitors, cleaning cabins, cleaning campsites, and other special projects.

Please contact Ian Bechtel for more info.

Thank you!
