Two hosts or host teams are needed at Wallowa Lake State Park for the months of May & June to help with cleaning campsites and preparing the park for the busy summer season. Campground hosts are scheduled to work 5 consecutive days with a 2-day weekend between and an average expected commitment of 20-30hours per week.
Wallowa Lake State Park is located in the far northeastern corner of Oregon. The park is surrounded on three sides by the glacial-carved slopes of the Wallowa Mountains and to the north by beautiful Wallowa Lake. May generally experiences early spring conditions, with flowers beginning to bloom, a mix of rain and cool sunshine, and the occasional short-lived snow. Visitors flock to the area to experience the dramatic views, clear waters, local events, and rural experience. Hosts often enjoy scenic driving tours, local events, leisurely walks around the park, and time on the water in their free time. In May, you can be in shorts exploring the full bounty of spring in the canyons in the morning then be snowshoeing atop the mountains in the afternoon.
The available host sites are C01 (56 foot pull-through with 50 or 30amp, water, and sewer), C03 (46ft back-in with 50 or 30amp, water, and sewer), and C47 (47ft pull-throught plus 20ft back-in parking stall, 50 or 30 amp, sewer and water). Cell service in the park depends on your carrier, with most having fair coverage for call and text, but internet access generally limited to USCellular towers or Verizon devices with a signal boost. Grocery stores and other services are available in the towns of Joseph and Enterprise 6 and 12 miles away respectively. A washer and dryer are available for host use on scheduled evenings.
