Adjacent to South Beach State Park, South Jetty offers horse access to the beach, fishing, clamming, surfing, scuba diving and (for the advanced) windsurfing, when conditions permit.

California sea lions infected with Leptospirosis are appearing on Oregon beaches. The contagious bacterial infection, and many others, are transmittable to humans, dogs, and horses. Beachgoers are urged to leash their dogs and keep dogs and horses at least 150 feet away from live or dead sea lions. It is a violation of federal and state laws to harass, disturb, touch or feed marine mammals. Report violations to Oregon State Police at 800-452-7888. South Jetty is a day-use area within South Beach State Park.
