Jasper Point campground is one of two campgrounds at Prineville Reservoir State Park.  Small and quiet, the park has 27 first-come, first-served campsites with electricity and water hook ups. The lake is just a short walk from the campsites, with some having waterfront views. Follow a 1¾-mile lakeside hiking trail to main campground.

Jasper Point has its own two-lane boat ramp and courtesy dock for boat access to the lake.  A trailhead for hiking into the State Wildlife area is located inside the camp.


Camping is first-come, first-served.

  • 28 electrical sites with water (two with accessible design)
  • One pet-friendly rustic log cabin with a toilet (no shower). Three person maximum occupancy. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED
  • Flush toilets and hot showers
  • Boat ramp
  • RV dump station

Know Before You Go

  • Some boat ramps on the reservoir may close when water levels are low. Visit the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation website for current water levels and boat ramp elevations.
  • Campfire restrictions are often in place during the summer months.

Jasper Point State Park campground and day use areas will be closed for the 2021 year effective October 1st. We will reopen May 1st, 2022
Effective Aug 23, 2021
Plan for low water levels on the reservoir and a long walk to get to the water. Boats with motors are not advised. Only small watercraft recommended, such as canoes, kayaks, paddle boards and floats. 
  • The boat ramps at Prineville Reservoir State Park day-use area, Powderhouse Cove, and Jasper Point are closed due to low water levels. 
  • The Roberts Bay and County boat ramps are open to small, non-motorized watercraft. 
  • Swimming is still allowed, but we had to remove the floating guardrails that protect the swim area. 
  • No boat moorage in 2021.
  • The Prineville Resort is closed. No fuel is available for purchase — please come prepared.

Is the campground open year round?

No.  Jasper campground is only open from May 1st through September 30th each year.  The main campground is open all year.

Can I fill personal pools, run sprinklers or misters?

No. Because of the drought and water shortage, water from the campsite, campground  or other park water sources can't be used to fill personal pools, sprinklers or misters.
