Jasper Point campground is one of two campgrounds at Prineville Reservoir State Park.  Small and quiet, the park has 27 first-come, first-served campsites with electricity and water hook ups. The lake is just a short walk from the campsites, with some having waterfront views. Follow a 1¾-mile lakeside hiking trail to main campground.

Jasper Point has its own two-lane boat ramp and courtesy dock for boat access to the lake.  A trailhead for hiking into the State Wildlife area is located inside the camp.

Camping

Camping is first-come, first-served.

  • 28 electrical sites with water (two with accessible design)
  • One pet-friendly rustic log cabin with a toilet (no shower). Three person maximum occupancy. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED
  • Flush toilets and hot showers
  • Boat ramp
  • RV dump station

Know Before You Go

  • Some boat ramps on the reservoir may close when water levels are low. Visit the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation website for current water levels and boat ramp elevations.
  • Campfire restrictions are often in place during the summer months.

The following conditions are in place for Prineville Reservoir:
  • Prineville main camp is open all loops.
  • The boat ramps at Prineville Reservoir State park day use is open.
  • Day use and Dock at Jasper is open for the season as of 4/16/24
  • Powderhouse ramp and dock are open for the season.
  • The unimproved Roberts Bay and County boat ramp are open. 
  • Fish cleaning station closed temporarily for repairs
  • North road is open for the season as of April 15th
  • Bear Creek is open for the season. parking is flooded
  • Moorage Opens on May 15th.
  • Jasper campground and Day use are open for the season
  • floating restrooms have been put out for the season.
  • The reservoir level is at 98% as of June 3, 2024.

Is the campground open year round?

No.  Jasper campground is only open from May 1st through September 30th each year.  The main campground is open all year.

Can I fill personal pools, run sprinklers or misters?

No. Because of the drought and water shortage, water from the campsite, campground  or other park water sources can't be used to fill personal pools, sprinklers or misters.
