COVID-19 UPDATE: Park is OPEN for limited daytime use. The east parking lot is open 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Restrooms are open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Be prepared to turn around if crowded. Bring your own water, food and hand sanitizer. Do not travel far to visit. Facilities may close without notice.
Come and explore an old cinder cone located just east of Bend. Hike up and around on one of three trails. The trails wind through stands of juniper and sage. All of the trails lead to the summit. Once at the top, get ready for a grand panoramic view of the high desert.
To the west at sunset, the glow of snowcapped Cascade mountains put on a spectacular show. Three Sisters, Mt. Jefferson, Black Butte and Mt. Hood are some of the highlights.
There is year round access from the East side parking lot for all trails and the summit.
The summit road for driving access is seasonal and open April 15 through November 15 (winter weather conditions may impact these dates).
