Celebrate the New Year at Oregon State Parks with a Ranger-led interpretive snowshoe walk or hike on the Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail in Mosier, OR. Visitors will be rewarded with expansive views of the Columbia River Gorge and learn about the natural and human history of the area from the ancient past to the modern day. No snowshoeing experience is required and this event is open to all ages and skill levels.

Participants are encouraged to supply their own snowshoes or cross country skis, but a limited number of snowshoes may be provided free of charge to those in need. Plan for an easy two mile round trip with many stops for questions and photo opportunities. Water and snacks are recommended, please plan to bring your own sack lunch if desired. If there is insufficient snow pack, this will be conducted as a regular hike; the trail is fully paved and handicap accessible. Expect cold, snowy/icy, or rainy conditions and dress accordingly.

Meet at the Senator Mark O. Hatfield East Trailhead on Rock Creek Rd. in Mosier, OR at 10am on January 1st. The event is free of charge and no pre-registration is required. We look forward to seeing you!
