Milo McIver State Park will be hosting a short guided hike showcasing some of the many amazing things Milo McIver State Park has to offer.
Along the hike we will be answering questions about the ecology of our park including the Mt Hood watershed, clean drinking water, and healthy Salmon/Steelhead populations for the future.
Along the beautiful Clackamas River we will look for birds of prey including the Great Blue Heron and will pass the largest Pacific Yew tree in the nation. After crossing Dog Creek the hike will end at the Clackamas fish hatchery where we will be able to learn more about the lifecyle and habitat of Salmon.
Trail length- Less than half a mile
Dog creek is a flat trail with little to no elevation, the trail is mostly compacted gravel but does have a few bridge crossings that should be accessible by wheelchair with a little assistance.
We will be meeting at the far end of the main Riverside parking lot. Please arrive early with enough time to use restrooms etc prior to the hike.
Please see our Maple Ridge first day hike at 1:00 for those looking for something a litle more challenging.
