Please join us in ringing in the new year with a guided hike through the beautiful L.L. Stub Stewart State Park trail system. This year, we are offering two hike options, one 3 mile hike to begin at 10:00 am and a second shorter 1.5 mile hike to begin at 1:00 pm. All hikes will meet and begin at the Dairy Creek West Campground Loop Meeting hall with plenty of parking located at the nearby Dairy Creek East Campground loop. A short paved pathway connects the parking area to the shelter. These are pet friendly hikes (be sure to bring a leash and water for your companion).
For the 10:00 am hike visitors can expect uneven terrain with some elevation change of moderate difficulty. Our 1:00 pm hike will be a modified shorter hike through the forest over easy to medium terrain with moderate elevation changes. Please dress for the weather. Normal hiking boots or comfortable shoes with good traction should be sufficient. Please note if rain or snow is predicted we will still be hiking. Warm breathable clothes with 2 gloves and a wind breaker or rain coat could be great items to consider. Water bottle and snacks are great to have along the way and folks are encouraged to bring their phones or cameras as we will be looking for those great photo opportunities along the way. No bicycles for the guided hikes - however there are plenty of multi-use trails that are open and ready for self-guided riding if you choose to bring one along.
