Do you want to become a more active steward of your local State Park? Are you bothered by Scotch Broom, Himilayan Blackberry, or English Ivy and want to vent your rage in a healthy outlet? Come and join Park Rangers and other volunteers at Milo McIver State Park for our monthly vegetation removal work parties to remove invasive species that take root throughout the park. Every third saturday of the month, meet at the Park Office to work together in making a difference in your community. Any new volunteer will need to complete a volunteer sign-up sheet at their first meeting. Participants under the age of 18 will require Parental or Guardian permission via an invididual Volunteer Service Agreement. Every participant will be provided a visitor parking pass for the day of participation.
Projects will vary throughout the seasons depending on weather and conditions, so please be aware of what approriate clothing and shoes to wear and belongings to bring in order to be safely outside for several hours. Eye protection, gloves, and hand tools will be provided by Park Staff. P
