Location of Assignment: Umpqua Lighthouse State Park

Time Commitment/Schedule: 2PM - 6PM Friday - Tuesday (Wed/Thurs off, total of 20 hours per week)

Purpose of Volunteer Role: The Greeting Host supports park operations by providing excellent customer service to park visitors.

General Responsibilities:

·       Respond to visitor, staff, and volunteer requests in an attentive and respectful manner.

·       Assist with campground guest check-in and checkout.

·       Provide excellent customer service for park visitors by giving out accurate information about the park, park activities, and the surrounding areas.

·       Support, sell, and restock firewood and bicycle helmet sales through operation of Ventek machine.

·       Restock and arrange maps, brochures, etc. at the welcome kiosk.

Restricted Tasks:

·       Enforce park rules: Hosts may share information on park rules with visitors, but volunteers do not enforce rules or make initial contacts for rule infractions. This activity is only performed by paid park staff with enforcement training.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

·       Be at least 18 years old.

·       Ability to lift up to 10 pounds

·       Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions.
