Join park staff and volunteers for a guided three mile hike in the beautiful woods of L.L. Stub Stewart State Park! The route will be a loop connecting several different trails including Boomscooter Trail, Unfit Settlement Trail, Hares Canyon Trail, Peavey Hook Bridleway, and Widowmaker Way. There is moderate elevation gain in certain sections, and the trail surface is a mixture of dirt paths and gravel road. Waterproof hiking boots or shoes are advised, since the trails may be wet and muddy in January.
The Friends of Stub Stewart State Park and Banks-Vernonia Rails to Trail will be running a booth with free hot drinks and snacks, as well as information about how to volunteer for future events and work parties at Stub.
Pets are welcome to join, but must be on a leash no more than 6 ft. long. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
The event is free, and all day-use parking fees are waived for January 1st
