One host position is available at Wallowa Lake State Park for a host or host couple between the months of August and September, with an option to continue into October.
Wallowa Lake State Park is located in the far northeastern corner of Oregon. Visitors flock to the area from distant cities to experience the dramatic views, clear waters, local events, and rural experience. Hosts often enjoy scenic driving tours, local events, birding in the park, hiking in neighboring wilderness, and recreating on the water in their free time. The park is surrounded on three sides by the glacial-carved slopes of the Wallowa Mountains and to the north by beautiful Wallowa Lake.
The minimum duration of this position is one month and the maximum duration is three months. Duties include cleaning fire pits, picking up litter, restocking firewood carts, answering visitor questions, and light landscaping. In the event of a fire ban, firewood duties may be replaced with special projects. Campground hosts are scheduled to work 5 consecutive days with a 2-day weekend between and an average expected commitment of 20-30hours per week.
The available host site is 47 foot long with a slight bend and an additional 20ft back-in parking stall, 50amp service, water, and sewer. Cell service in the park depends on your carrier, but generally only USCellular has full coverage including internet in the park (others may have text and calling). Grocery stores and other services are available in the towns of Joseph and Enterprise 6 and 12 miles away respectively. A washer and dryer are available for host use in the park office.
